The Beginning

The Company DNA

In the world of bespoke tailoring, few names resonate with the same level of dedication and expertise as The Block Hong Kong. Our company's DNA is deeply rooted in the time-honored traditions passed down from our founder's father, a master tailor with over 50 years of experience. This legacy, rich in craftsmanship and innovation, forms the cornerstone of everything we do at The Block Hong Kong.

Our founder inherited not just skills but a detailed understanding of body posture and measurement. Over five decades, our founder's father segmented and categorized more than 30 different body postures, recognizing that every individual is a unique combination of these categories. This intricate understanding led to the development of over 10,000 block patterns, designed to cater to a variety of scenarios and body measurements. These patterns are continually evolving, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary style to meet the expectations of today's discerning clients.

We pride ourselves on our ability to merge this deep-seated knowledge with modern aesthetics. Our commitment is to offer tailored clothing that not only fits perfectly but also aligns with the lifestyle and tastes of our clients. This is the essence of The Block Hong Kong—where heritage meets innovation.

The Origin

The story of The Block Hong Kong begins in the late 1960s when our founder's father embarked on his journey in menswear. Starting as an apprentice to a renowned Shanghai master tailor, he learned the meticulous art of suit pattern drawing. His talent and dedication soon caught the eye of a government-owned factory, which recognized his potential and appointed him as an instructor to share his expertise with other tailors in China.

In 1982, our founder's father foresaw the growing demand for menswear and seized the opportunity to co-own a factory with the government. This menswear factory not only fulfilled local needs but also distributed high-quality garments worldwide. His vision and entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for what would become a lasting legacy.
